Matt & Kelly
I met Michael when my husband, Matt and I started coaching cross country/track for Healdsburg High School a few years ago. I was so impressed with his work he did for our kids in the entire community, and how giving this man is of his time to capture beautiful work for EVERY single sports team in the entire redwood empire.
When we found out we were expecting, it was a no brainer to ask Michael to do our maternity photos. While shooting at a few different locations in Healdsburg, Michael made us feel so comfortable, and he is such a pro at his craft. Many people worry with photographers that it will take hours upon hours to shoot, and while Michael gets right down to business, it never felt rushed – from the time we met, to shooting the photos, I think we spent 2 hours total – he is incredibly efficient with his time.
Michael is dependable, and his attention to detail is impeccable. His work speaks for itself. He told us to have a few outfits to change into and wanted the entire experience to be fun and laid back – and we had a blast! He told us just to be ourselves, and captured some of the most beautiful moments we will cherish forever. The entire experience exceeded our expectations.
We were thrilled with how our photos came out, and plan to have Michael capture our first family photos when our little one arrives, and to use Michael for many more years to come.
Thank you so much Michael!

Grateful is the best way to describe how I’ve felt for the past decade since Michael’s sports photos first graced the pages of the Healdsburg Tribune. During that time he’s made a lasting contribution to promote youth sports and capture memorable moments for thousands of kids, while at the same time making a huge impact in providing professional quality images for our newspapers (which also include the Sonoma West Times & News, Windsor Times and Cloverdale Reveille).
Michael has spent countless hours on the fields, courts and gymnasiums all over Sonoma County, generously volunteering his time in an effort to help others.
I’m proud to say that what started as a professional relationship has since blossomed into a great friendship. Thank you Michael for all you do, it is much appreciated!

I believe I met Michael around 2010 at a track meet I was covering for The Press Democrat newspaper. I noticed him taking photos and asked if he could send me a couple to use on my running website. That began a relationship that is still going strong and has blessed countless numbers of teens and their families. Michael took what was just a small hobby to him, and turned it into some of the best sports shots I have ever seen. Whether it is pouring rain that would make a duck run for cover or 110 degrees, you can find Michael out there trying to get a shot of every single kid he can, whether they are going to be our next national champion or the last kid to cross the finish line. I know some of these kids will cherish the shots Michael has taken of them for the rest of their lives and he does all this for free, never demanding a dime. My hat is off to Michael because of the beauty of his work with a camera, but beyond that for his dedication, generosity and support of youth sports.

"This note of gratitude and appreciation has been a long time coming! I have been so deeply appreciative of the amazing and beautiful photos you take of our local athletes. As a parent, these are absolute gifts of a lifetime. On top of all the photos you take, you have made them available to all of us – which is such an incredibly generous gesture. It is something just to sit and view the albums of these Kids.
Thank you for your love of photography and high school sports. You are an inspiration. And thank you from the bottom of my heart – for all the moments you have captured of Dante, his teammates, and so many of our local athletes.
With much gratitude and appreciation, Julie"
